What is a Dietitian?

A dietitian is a tertiary qualified nutrition expert who has completed either a four year bachelor degree or masters equivalent study. Dietitian’s are clinically trained and recognised by Medicare as the only nutrition experts able to provide dietary intervention to those with a chronic condition such as Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease, or Cancer. Dietitians can only provide evidence based information to their clients, meaning they do not support the use of fad diets or unnecessary supplements. They are also required to complete professional development annually to stay on top of the latest nutritional science. When consulting with an Accredited Practising Dietitian, you can be assured that they have the adequate training and education to assist you with your dietary needs.
