Dr Elizabeth Charos

B app Sc (Osteopathy)

 

Elizabeth Charos graduated from RMIT in 1993 and worked as an Osteopath whilst lecturing at RMIT (1994-1998) and at VUT (1995-1997) before going full time as a clinician in her own clinic which operates to this day. Her clinical interests are diverse from treating sporting injuries, infants through to adolescence, pregnancy and even seniors. Elizabeth’s experience of over 21 years aims to provide the very best in Osteopathic Health Care so that her patients feel relaxed and comfortable whilst in her care.

 

Elizabeth is passionate about osteopathy, she enjoys treating both acute and chronic musculoskeletal ailments. With her great knowledge and understanding of the human body and the osteopathic principles she will not only identify and treat the cause of your pain, but will endeavour understand why you were susceptible to this type of strain and by improving overall alignment, movement and function help prevent reoccurrences.

 

The emphasis of Elizabeth’s treatment is on the person and not their symptom. With her extensive study and palpatory skills, Elizabeth endeavours to identify the cause of your pain and formulate a treatment plan to help to restore optimal health and wellbeing. Through body awareness, and education Elizabeth will aim to empower you to achieve your health goals.


Dr Adrian Hubert

Adrian graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Osteopathy in 1999, and is fully qualified and registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

 

Adrian initially started his life as an engineering student, and decided to change direction turning to “human engineering”.

 

Adrian is a committed Osteopath who has particular interests in sports injuries, lower limb biomechanics, and musculo-skeletal rehabilitation. He also has a strong belief in encouraging his clients to take an active role in their own health care, both in and outside of the treatment room.


Dr John Abenoja

B. Health Sci, B. App. Sci (Osteopathy)

 

John completed his studies with RMIT University, and prior to pursuing his interest in osteopathy, he completed an Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy which helped affirm his passion for alternative medicine. In his final year of studies, John spent time working in a hospital in Goa, India, where he collaborated with orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists and dietitians as part of an osteopathic internship. John has considerable experience in sporting injuries and management, having also worked as medical team member for RMIT UniSport Nationals Division 1 and a head trainer for Fitzroy City Soccer Club.

 

John is passionate about treating and creating management plans to accommodate individual patients suffering from a variety of musculoskeletal conditions including sporting injuries, tendon injuries, lower back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain and lower limb pain.


Monika Raftis - Remedial Therapist

 (Dip RMT Cert IV MT AAMT member)

 

Monika joined Essendon Osteopathic Health Group in September 2013. She is an accredited Remedial Massage Therapist having completed a Certificate IV in Massage and a Diploma of Remedial Therapy at the Australian College of Massage. She is a member of the AAMT.

 

Remedial Massage technique is used by Monika to treat specific muscle pain and dysfunction where required. It incorporates Deep Tissue/Trigger Point therapy and Sports Massage. Deep Tissue treatment can reduce physical pain and discomfort, while Sports massage can aid in athletic performance, speed up recovery and reduces muscle pain. Monika’s modalities include deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, remedial massage, pregnancy massage, oedema myofascial cupping and relaxation massage.
